Brian is a highly accomplished Operating Executive and Financial Services Expert with more than 20 years of success in the military, biomechanics, manufacturing, finance, software, investment banking, and private markets. He has been fortunate enough to develop expertise in a wide range of company stages from startup to growth, M&A, and turnaround. Brian has a unique ability to orchestrate cross-functional team execution with exceptionally high results. Currently he and his wife own one of the largest Home Healthcare Franchises in northern California, BrightStar Care of San Francisco and Marin County. During the COVID pandemic he founded and gained venture capital funding for a remote monitoring service company for the elderly.
Previously Brian was President and Chief Investment Officer of Parallel Advisors, a $5bn independent wealth management firm. Prior to this his experience was as CEO of Sellpoints, an eCommerce marketing SaaS and Managed Services company delivering increased online sales for its customers. Brian was a Managing Director of Pharus Advisors, a boutique investment banking practice where he was the CIO of a late stage venture capital fund.
As an investment banker in Chicago, prior to moving to the Bay area, Brian worked on financings in excess of $400M million for companies backed by well-known venture firms such as Kleiner Perkins, New Enterprise Associates, Benchmark Capital, Morgenthaler, Menlo Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Khosla Ventures. He has participated in over $2B in transaction value in his career.
Other past positions include a field role while at Private Equity boutique firm, AA Capital Partners, where he was Vice President Strategy and Systems, Xyience, Inc, a portfolio company of AA Capital. He was accountable for the development and implementation of supply chain and information systems strategy for the business as it prepared to go public with an expected growth rate in excess of 500%. While an operating executive early in his career at GE, he acquired and integrated close to 20 companies. Brian also served as an Armor Officer in the US Army and spent 11 months deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina to maintain peace in the region.
Brian holds an MBA from University of Chicago, Booth School of Business with Concentrations in Finance and Economics, and a BS in Biomedical Engineering, with minors in Mechanical Engineering and Military Science. While serving in the US Army he was recognized by the NATO Commanding General in charge of Bosnia for superior checkpoint operations. Brian is a Six Sigma Black Belt.
